I did this with my 25-Man too, on Tuesday. Congratulations!
I was just wondering, that Naxxramas feels like an old 40-Man raid, because we were so fast. It was no real challenge when WotLK hits and now its done in an hour.
While I understand Blizzard wanting to bring back Naxx to show how awesome the instance was, they unfortunately (as a side effect) did a disservice to it making it look trivial by it being the 1st instance of the expansion.
To me, Naxx40 was pinnacle of raiding for me. It was extremely challenging and required a lot of commitment. Now you can raid Naxx25 in a couple of hours and get immortal, back then Naxx40 took several days to get through the whole instance.
Here are some highlights from “the good ol days”…
Loatheb – Extremely tight dps requirements that required people to world buff to squeeze out every last ounce of dps. Back when there were more than just 2 pots you can take, we used to take every possible potion that would increase dps/survivability + Dire Maul buff + onyxia/nef head buff + zg buff + epl buff and run to the instance and hope you dont get ganked. Needless to say, we never wiped once we started world buffing (would you be the dick that fucks up?)
Four Horsemen – Now you can zerg down 2 in 30s and kill the last 2 easily. Back then you had to bring them all down together and more than 3-4 marks would kill you. This required extremely challenging rotations of dps, tanks and healers rotating in all sorts of directions. In classic wow only warriors were tanks so we had to have 8 warriors to actually make it successful. This is the last boss I killed in naxx40 before TBC came out and to me it was probably the most complex fight i ever did.
Thaddius – Crossing polarities will kill you and nobody else, but back in classic when casters had 4-6k hp and tanks had 10k hp, you cross it up and everyone dies.
Nice work! It’s the only 25 man naxx achieve I still need (missed the success w/ my guild). Hardest part of that achievment was always getting lucky with no disconnects and latency (at least for us)
Failed many many times back when Naxx was the content of the time. Got as far as 4H (sapph/KT) left until someone chained on zelik :X
Tried a immortal setup a few months back and go as far as thaddius before someone decided to say the opposite polarities as a joke. Funny until someone believed him :X
We tried it two weeks ago and a mage pulled aggro on sapphiron in the first try, so that was a real short evening. ^^ (we didn’t wanted to wait 30 minutes for a soft reset)
As of 04/04/2011, I have officially retired from WOW. This blog will remain as a archived resource for those who know that CAT DRUID IS 4 FITE!

Just a few fun memories of the past
Yeah, Naxx40 was a real pain in the ***. But Thaddius was the last boss i have seen before TBC. I believe we only got six bosses down.
I hope we will see more challenging instances like naxx40 in cataclysm.

Safety dance. That has to be the hardest part of the whole achievement.
Actually if you have competent dps you can actually kill Heigan before he dances.
Gratz! I just got this last week as well on my first try… I think it took us 90 minutes. Was actually pretty fun.

But this tuesday it all worked well for us.
