Six Digit Bank Account

For those who have been following my blog they’ve probably figured out that I’m somewhat of an achievement whore. What you might not know is that I also collect.. well gold. I’ve been saving up for quite a while now and today I finally reached 6 digits… 100,000g! You might be wondering, how long it took so I took the liberty of taking a /played screenshot. If you break it down by total gold earned per day played it actually works out to 367g per day which is pretty interesting as I def don’t make that much gold a day. (It’s also somewhat embarrassing how many hours I’ve invested into this game).

A logical next question could be, what is the maximum amount of gold that you can have on a character? Well someone’s actually reached it and the answer is 214,748 gold, 36 silver, 48 copper. The article that proves this can be found here on wow.com, quite the large sum and I’m not sure if I’ll ever manage to reach that cap (or if I’d try to) but for now I’m taking a break and buying some useless achievements that are a pure gold sink! There wasn’t anything special about how I made all my gold, I didn’t play the auction hall, it was more just saving over time, being frugal and not spending unless I had to. I always try and do dailies everyday which usually take me about 30 mins of my time but yields greater than 200g a day.

Finally, if I did decide to try and hit the cap, using the rate at which I earn gold (367g per day) it would take… *drumroll* another 312 days played… Probably not a good idea

 

How am I doing?

So folks, it’s been about two months now (and 2500 hits later!) since I started this blog and I’ve seen it steadily grow to a good following so I thank you all for coming to see what I have to say and for continuing to come back as well. I wanted to do a checkpoint to see how you think I should proceed with this blog. I’ve been working on getting a good rhythm going in regards to posting style, posting frequency and whatnot but I’d love to hear your input so I can cater towards you, the reader.

So it begins…

Introductions are in order, my name is Vallen and I am a feral cat druid from Warsong-US. I have been playing WOW since release (Nov 04) and have clocked in well in excess of 200+ played days on my druid. I am primarily a PVE player who enjoys end game raiding, having experienced majority of PVE content WOW has had to offer over the years. I have always played  as feral since Vanilla days as a hobby but only recently in WOTLK have I finally made the full time conversion to a full time cat druid.

I’ve been tinkering with the idea of starting a blog for a long time now, I’ve even created a few and stopped as I could never get the drive to push forward and make the time investment. I think I am finally ready to start adding my input into the community and fill a niche that I think isn’t really covered that extensively.

What I don’t want to do:

• Avoid theorycrafting and trying to max/min, I am not, nor do I try to be a reputable source of information. I like anyone else, go to reputable sources to find out what works best
• Avoid creating any how to guides on how to dps and what gear to use. There are plenty of excellent discussions to help you along your way

What I do what to do:

• Fill a gap in the feral community/blogosphere in which feral cat druids are greatly under represented in progression raiding
• Share my experiences in end game PVE raiding that a lot of players do not have an opportunity to see, or to simply discuss different experiences with other fellow kitty kats
