Fresh Instance = Dead Arthas

Yesterday I posted about our attempts into Arthas 10 and the troubles we encountered from making the choice to extend our lockout. Well today we made the decision to reclear the instance and see if that fixed our issues. After 3 hours of reclearing ICC10 we got back to Arthas and as we suspected none of the problems we had from the day before happened again. Phase 4 was still somewhat of a clusterfuck but using some new tactics left it more manageable and we grabbed a Server First.

Looking for to a nice long break for the rest of the week before we go back in next week to start tackling some hard modes.

So totally unrelated topic, but I thought I would toss it out there to my fellow ferals.

What do you all feel about having the position requirement removed from shred? With all the boss turns and casts, slimes, icetombs, etc…. we still have parry penalties and possible parry haste. But we are the only raiding class/spec that has position requirement on top of the most challenging dps cycles.

    Food for thought?

I think the positional requirement of shred is something that should be kept in the game. Sure it makes it more difficult but that’s part of the challenges of playing a feral kitty.

Yes, a lot of bosses like to jiggle around (Arthas loves to dance) which may cause you to lose a shred or 2, it’s what makes being a kitty fun. Technically regardless of the requirement, youd still want to stay behind bosses to avoid block/parries anyways so think of it as a restriction to help you play better.

That’s just my personal take on it.

How did you guys extend it, then go back and re-clear a fresh instance in the same week?

We extended the lockout but because we didn’t kill anything it didn’t relock us to anything so we just dropped it and started fresh. Good thing we did because if we didnt there would have been a lot more RNG to deal with.

    Woot! Congrats!!!

Sindragosa is still giving my guild some problems, but I can already smell Arthas :3

And I do agree that Shred should be kept the way it is. Annoying as it is (I’m looking at you, AotD), it’s a unique part of our challenging spec 😀

Oops I fogot to add. Followed your Attuman the Huntsman guide, and it was a breeze. Thank you so much 😀

I think the only time the positional requirement of shred comes into play is during berserk. And when you have bosses like Blood Queen and Festergut (who love randomly turning around all the time) it can get downright frustrating. The most frustrating part about it is you can’t do anything to overcome it. You’re spamming your shred button during berserk, but then she turns around . . . you can’t immediately choose to do something like a mangle because you have to wait for the server to come back and yell, “NOPE CAN’T DO IT” and then try again. And while it’s only fractions of a second and it’s not a huge DPS loss, it is ridiculously annoying when you’re trying your best to squeeze out any extra damage.

If someone is attacking the front of the boss they suck anyhow and will do bad damage because of it.

Now I’m not really advocating the removal of the positional requirement of shred because I still do fine with it, I’m just saying I wouldn’t cry if it were taken out.

    Big Grz on the kill!
Will be interesting to see how hard the hard modes really are.

Completed Storming the Citadel last night. Took us the whole night but we had a bit of a brain fart by wasting 2 hrs on Saurfang until we realized we could do it a diff way and 1 shot it after that. Part of the learning process I guess? lol

Gratz! We extended the lockout from last week to this week and plan on working on him for 2 nights.

So far we have gotten to the flying chick phase but with so many melee we are having some issues with the chicks and the block hole RNG.
