Good Bye Park

Patch 4.03a is today (Full patch notes here) and as such the Shattering has occurred and the face of Azeroth has been changed forever. Last night I took some time to hang out in the Park as it will be destroyed with the coming of Deathwing and will on longer exist. By hang out I mean I was hoping that I’d login and get my face melted by Deathwing but looks like there’s no such luck.

We lost all the druid trainers that used to be in the park (they drowned). We got a new druid trainer in a different area of Stormwind.

They are, however, sending all player characters to the nearest graveyard from where they logged out. So, you won’t log back in stuck under the world or falling to your death.

Did they officially drown? If so…wow, guess I wasn’t the only one that put off the (in the old days) water form quest too long.

Ended up in Stockades safe and sound.

I placed an alt in 1000 needles at the bottom of the Great Lift. I logged on to find him safe and sound. I was hoping to see him drowned at the very least.

But I think the reason they did this was because the new Cata zones are actually different zones and not just redone. So we were in a zone that is no longer active. That meant all they could do was to transport us to a nearby place that wasn’t changed.

Your logic makes sense, and probably is what happened.

I honestly really would have liked to see characters nuked/drowning etc but i guess that would have created a lot of “WTF BLIZZARD” comments.

behind the church in storm wind, there is a new park.

has a gazebo, and a trellis I would assume its for people to get married on a RP server.

still a nice green place to sit.
