Kitty PVP is not dead.

As the title says…

KITTY PVP IS NOT DEAD.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, I will say that I’ve started arena’ing again and I am currently into my 2nd week of real arena games (not just playing to get 1343 conquest points). While I am only 2’sing at the moment, I am having an absolute blast as feral. It is a very refreshing change from humping pillars and running away from anything and everything. I purposely decided to wait until after the feral pvp changes (post 4.06) to start seriously arena’ing to prove that it is still viable. Sure, I can admit that some types of combos (healer/fdruid) are probably suffering significantly in 2’s with the lack of mobility but that doesn’t mean that its a dead spec and you cant play it. Far from it, it just means you need to adapt and play a different comp that will still be effective.

Currently I am running Marksman Hunter/Feral Druid (one of my 3’s partners from last season) and while we started playing just to get CP capped, its actually turned into a real team. We’re currently at ~2k rating and we haven’t really run into much difficulty except for a few specific compositions. Only time will tell to see how high we can get, either way looking forward to proving everyone wrong (hopefully) and show that feral is still a force to be reckoned with in arenas.

Feral PVP discussion posts coming before end of week!

I wish that every team ignoring feral druids because they don’t have extremely op damage and mobility now would read this, feral pvp is no where close to being dead! We just have to turn a little more on the finesse side and use those down times while snared to peel and CC. Sure it takes a little more skill and work but isn’t that what the feral spec is all about :).

Well… I’d wager the reason is the current state of mm hunter in pvp, not the one of feral. 😉

MM hunters are extremely good in PvP. That doesn’t support your hypothesis that ferals in PvP are OK. In threes if you have someone to dispell roots you can also be OK. But guess what. That same team without the feral would be much better with another class.

I’m also thinking that the teams you went up against are kinda bad. All they had to do is root/freeze/whatever you in place and then it’s two on one. As feral all you can hope to do is sit there and wait for your roots to wear off. Yea you have one trinket get out of jail card but after that forget it.

I don’t agree at all because you’re saying that feral pvp is dead, but its not dead if you match it with a class that has good synergy? The whole point of my post is that you need to look beyond what necessarily worked before and see what works now.

As for me playing teams that are all bad – I won’t even begin to comment on that since that’s pure troll fodder and not really what should be discussed.

In regards to being able to do nothing but sit there and wait for roots/freezing to wear off, I’d say you aren’t doing it right. Wait for my upcoming posts for suggestions!
